Czech Healthcare Reforms Series 7 - Changes to Prescription Charges

Czech Healthcare Reforms Series 7 - Changes to Prescription Charges

From January 2012 Kc 30 per script will be payable as opposed to Kc30 per item.  However, new co-payments will be introduced for drugs costing less than Kc50.  ‘Supportive drugs’ such as migraine and hypertension will now be subject to a co-payment whereas they were not before.  This will not affect some drugs because in each drug group there will be at least one which is exempt from co-payment.  Choice is now introduced.

Medicines tax will be increased from 10% to 14%.
